Found a bit strange server on gametracker, once i joined, there were 22 fake non-steam accounts in spectarors just sitting there, probably there to lure some real players to join the server, also MOTD opened up some weird colors and stuff that looked fishy asf. My assumption is that MOTD somehow contains malware links and who knows what else, since there is no reason for someone to create such server, its obviously there to lure players to join.
Also server has huge ping spikes for no reason and is supposed to be Superhero mod, but its not,just doesnt make any sense.Can someone more experienced check this out, since im not really sure if it infected my pc or what, thanks.Server ip is: 81.2.243.202:27015, its on gametracker if you search 'Superhero', its called Dragons Server 2 SuperHero. Exactly, they didn't want to block all server commands because it would 'break gamemodes'.Funny thing is I also have a non-steam copy (2009) which doesn't have that command.
I use an injected protector which blocks all server commands and all gamemodes, even Furien work fine. It's really stupid if you ask me.Yes, it is possible. I once got falsely banned from a steam server (so latest patches) with clfilterstuffcmd 1, and it downloaded a proper virus (two.exe files and one.vbs file) which added themselves to the Startup folder. Actually, it added the self-extracting WinRAR archive to startup, so when it runs it extracts the virus again.
Whenever I ran the game, it would connect me to a server and overwrite all my game files with garbage text, yes, EVEN AFTER RE-INSTALLING. It can download so much malware, dlls, exes, anything.Yeah. There is still an exploit present to go around clfilterstuffcmd 1, which has been written up very well and sent to Valve but nothing has been done.
Not linking it, the only reason it isn't rampant is because not many server admins know of it, so I won't spread it. That is absolutely ridiculous.
I'm not an expert but if there is such a vulnerability present in the game, can someone actually sue them for that? I mean if someone stole my credit card info just because i played counter strike that has that sort of bizarre vulnerability, i would be 'hurt' as their 'customer', which would obviously allow me to do something to protect myself.? Anyway now i need to figure out if i'm actually infected or not, which is just a fucking pain in the ass, might as well just re-install my OS. Utterly fucking ridiculous.edit: actually noticed that i have slight delays when i'm typing my login details on steam, and league of legends, so yeah lets just say that is not a good fucking sign.
What you need:- Windows XP, minimum 1ghz and 256 ram- Minimum Speed 100kb/s, Optic Fiber- IP ROUTABIL / PORT FORWARD!- 1-2 GB space on disk- PatienceOk guys first of all I quited epvp so I can't give much support to my threads anymore but here's something I can do: Make a Counter-Strike 1.6 Server Steam + Non steam with links up to date in the easiest method possible.1. Download the Auto-Installer from2. After it Downloads create a folder in any of your Drives ( C: / D: ) called HLDS (it's used the most but you can put any name you want) and open the Server-Creator3. Choose as destination the folder you've just created and let it work (it may take some time). After it finishes it must have between 315mb and 325mb in order to work. If it has less it means you have to go to step 2 again.-Now the server is done but don't hurry up because we still need some configs to do4. Now we must make the server playable for everyone.

( If you want your server to be steam only skip this step)-Download the Patch for this from.-Install it into the Server main folder (HLDS)5. Now go to HLDScstrikeserver.cfg and open it with notepad.
